Printed Resolution of the House of Representatives of the State of Massachusetts-Bay, June 21, 1779. 4pp, 8.5" x 14". Signed in type by JOHN HANCOCK as speaker in which he is Ordering the Selectman of each town to collect from the inhabitants of their towns…the number of Shirts, pairs of shoes and pairs of stockings listed next to each town's name, to be sent to soldiers fighting in the war. Two hundred, eighty-six Massachusetts towns are listed as are the names of the people in each county empowered to collect the clothing by October 5th.
