c. 1780 American Revolutionary War Era, Hand-Forged Small Camp Axe Head, Choice Very Fine. This quality American Revolutionary War Era Hand Forged Camp Axe Head measures about 6.5" with a 3.5" edge. It has an oval poll design and has seen little, if any actual use and has wonderful original non-pitted surfaces. Cutting edge flares while the blunt end can be used as a hammer. Similar in design to examples listed as "9" on page 26 of "Collector's Illustrated Encyclopedia of the American Revolution" by Neumann and Kravic.
