DABNEY H. MAURY (1822-1900). Confederate Major General. Fought at Pea Ridge, Corinth & Hatchie Bridge; commanded District of the Gulf. War-date Document Signed 2 pages, 9" x 13 ¾". Mobile, March 18, 1865. Recto lists 24 "non-commissioned officers and privates detailed as Acting Ordinance Sergeants at the Batteries and Redoubts comprising the line of City Defenses." Endorsed on verso "Dabney H. Maury" also on verso is a statement concerning the efficiency of the men noted. Moderate soiling and some marginal tears, otherwise Very Good.
