Mounted albumen photograph, 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" to larger mount, "Signal Station, S.C." printed on the mount. The image was taken by Timothy O'Sullivan, February 1862, at Beaufort, South Carolina, being the Federal signal station. This was formerly the home of John G. Barnwell.
