April 1862 Civil War, FRANK LESLIE'S WAR MAPS," Third Edition, New York, Featuring 8 pages of Maps, Illustrations, News, and Battles from Dec. 1860 to March 4, 1862, Somewhat Rough Very Good. Measuring about 23" x 16.5", with Engravings of Maps of important battles from the beginning of the Civil War to March 1862's "Map of Fernandina, Florida," which was captured by Union troops. This contemporary news companion to Frank Leslie's "Illustrated" Newspaper offered the latest estimation of how the war was progressing, with such items as a "War Chart," "Plan of Fort Walker, Fort Royal, South Carolina," a "Map of the Seat of War in the West…", on the back page., and much more. These exceptional maps are a must for the Civil War collector! Toned pages have edge splits and fold tears, yet can be conserved for display.
