Political cartoon 8-1/2" x 10-3/4", withdrawn from PUNCH, January 4, 1862. Titled, "Boxing Day." With caption, Mr. Punch. "Now then! Which end will you have, Jonathan?" The cartoon shows Punch with a spear approaching Lincoln with the pointed end being "WAR" and the blunt end being "PEACE". Lincoln clearly is surprised and timid. ... plus, Political cartoon 8-1/2" x 10-3/4", withdrawn from PUNCH,, May 2, 1863, fine. Titled "BEWARE!" is the advice of the Zoo Keeper, "He Ain't Asleep, Young Jonathon; So You'd Best Not Irritate Him". Shows America poking at the caged British Lion. Fine
