Union Soldier's 4pp letter, with original cover, written by 1st Sgt. Job Barnard, who mustered into "K" Co. IN 73rd Infantry, 8/16/62 and mustered out on 7/1/1865 at Nashville, TN. Datelined, Larkinsville Alabama, May 27, 1865. In part, "No bushwhacking is going on in this country at all and the paroled prisoners have come in thick, all well satisfied that the Rebellion has proved to be a great Failure. The comical manner into which Jeff D came into the hands of our boys, has created a great laugh through out the world. How fast have great events crowded upon us during the spring of '65. ... There is a Detach of the 10th Michigan Cavalry in camp with us to night. They have been out after Davis for the last few weeks ...."
