Late war Union veteran's letter, 2pp. 8vo., written by Pvt. Emanuel Minnich, Co. E, 46th Penn. Vols., Rehrersburg, [Penn.], August 3, 1865 addressed to Pvt. Marcus Walker, Co. E, 141st New York Vols., reading in part: "-I am home now but I had very bad luck - on the fourth of July. I try to go home and got arrested in Washington so I lost all my pay and didn't get no discharge - I am bad off. Marcus if you please tell Chaney Davitt to be so kind to send me them 10 dollars. That I was much in need of them for my money is plade out and working goes tuff at the present. Give him my address. I am well at the present - Emanuel Minnich, Behrersburg, Berks County, Pa." The original stamped transmittal cover is included. Light spotting, else near fine.
