GORBACHEV, Mikal (b. 1931) Soviet leader who sparked revolutionary political changes in his native country and throughout Eastern Europe. Signed Photo, 8”x10” depicting President Reagan embracing the former Soviet leader credited with instituting glasnost in the USSR. The photo appears to be taken after the awards ceremony when Gorbechev was awarded the Noble Peace Prize as a large purple ribbon is worn around his neck. This is a wonderful and very striking photo of the world superpower leaders shortly before the end of the Cold War.
