Titled "Star of Liberty" with a horizontal front cover, published by James A. McClure, Nashville, 1861, 6pp., VG. The lyrics are patriotic call to arms. In part "The cannons loud roar and rattle, Of missiles of death on their wings, On, on is the cry, Let your strength never die, The enemy boldly defy. Tis the call." Governor Harris was the state's first governor from West Tennessee. A pivotal figure in the state's history, Harris was considered by his contemporaries the person most responsible for leading Tennessee out of the Union and aligning it with the Confederacy during the Civil War.
