There were only one or two frosts of any consequence after we came out hereà[July 14th 1866]àI will add a lineàto come out and purchase a mill property four miles from this place. It is to be sold at sheriff's auction. Can be bought for $1000 and is worthà$10,000. In a word it is the best bargain I ever sawà3 1/2 miles from South Pacific R. I would not advise Ed to remove to this stateàhave not time to give reasons now. You could not easily raise your children right as it is a very wicked placeà".
