Newspaper, a complete and authentic issue of The World, New York, April 15, 1865, 4pp., disbound, VG. The entire front page is devoted to various assassination reports beginning with the evening reports of April 14th on the left column with Stacked column headlines, “Assassination of President Lincoln,, and Secretary Seward, Boldness of the Assassin, J. Wilkes Booth Suspected ...” The story builds until we reach the Right 6th column with stacked headline, “EXTRA, 9 ’clock, The Assassination, Mr. Lincoln Is Dead ...” Lincoln was pronounced dead only 90 minutes before this report. This truly an EXTRA Edition as noted that the pages are unnumbered. Disbound, slight rough at the spine.
