OULD, Robert, (1820-1882) was a lawyer who served as a Confederate official during the Civil War. From 1862 to 1865 he was the Confederate agent of exchange for prisoners of war under the Dix–Hill Cartel. Partial Letter Boldly Signed, “Robt Ould” being the lower 25% of a recommendation leter, “... great satisfaction to yourself and the department - His appointment would give great gratification to his numerous friends in this district and elswhere. Yours very truly.’
