Partially printed document, signed by E.H. Monteith, Baltimore, June 24, 1869 on "Office Disbursing Officer, Freedman's Bureau" stationary, directed to Eliza Ferguson and advising "Call at this office and get your Husband's back pay allowed by the United States Treasury ....' the amount of $40.25 was the back pay for her husband, Samuel Ferguson of the USCT 39th who had gone missing July 30, 1864. Very good condition.
