Three snapshot photographs of a 1920 United Confederate veteran's parade, each ID'd. The primary snap is captioned "Body Guard & Cook for Gen. R.E. Lee" and shows a highly decorated Black man wearing a pennant of Lee and Confederate flags. The vet is William Mack Lee. Fine. The other two are captioned, "U.C.V. 10-8-20" showing the Vets marching; and U.C.V. parade 10-8-20" shows the parade in distance. All fine. William Mack Lee published a book, "HISTORY OF THE LIFE OF REV. WM. MACK LEE BODY SERVANT OF GENERAL ROBERT E. LEE THROUGH THE CIVIL WAR. . . COOK FROM 1861 to 1865", by Rev. Wm. Mack Lee, 1918. Included are copies of a Wm. Mack Lee Photo and of the cover of his book. Both are held in the UNC collection..
