A complete and authentic issue PUCK, March 30, 1898, 16pp, disbound, VG. As normal format, this issue has lithographic color centerspread, front & back cover. The cover fits our 2021 immigration issue, front cover "Where would we be?" Shows Henry Cabot Lodge labeled "A.D. 1620" cowering before a Native who is about to hit him with a club around which a paper is wrapped that states "An Act to Prevent the Country from being Overrun by Foreigners". Puck was the first successful humor magazine in the United States of colorful cartoons, caricatures and political satire of the issues of the day. It was founded in 1871 as a German-language publication by Joseph Keppler, an Austrian-born cartoonist. Puck's first English-language edition was published in 1877 shows Henry Cabot Lodge labeled "A.D. 1620" cowering before a Native who is about to hit him with a club around which a paper is wrapped that states "An Act to Prevent the Country from being Overrun by Foreigners".
