Rare war-date pre-printed Confederate soldier's pre-printed railroad ticket, 1p. oblong 4" x 2 3/4", issued by Richmond and Danville Railroad Company for the Lynchburg to Bristol, Tennessee branch of the Virginia and Tennessee railroad. The disclaimer on the verso reads, in part: "This ticket is issued by agreement between the Rail issuing it and the Quartermaster General of the Confederate States, and each Road is to render its own account to the Department, and this coupon is to be received as a sufficient voucher." Unissued, near fine.
