War-date Union soldier Autograph Letter Signed by "Peter B. Humel" of the PA 41st infantry, on Unit stationary, 3pp., with original cover, VG. Datelined, Camp near Falmouth, May 10, 1862. In part, "... we had some trouble on the way. we had 5 men taken by the Rebels. They got in the rear of the Regiment and was taken by a Guerrilla band. Thare war twelve in number, hid in ambush ... This is a splendid looking country and more niggers than you can shake a stick at and thier hair is twisted so tight to thier heads that they can't shut there mouths ...."
