A Pair of Political Post Cards, each 5-/12” x 3”, 1908, Both VG. The first, two panals titled “The Candidates at Exercise” depicts Bryan as Lincoln-like with caption, “The Commoner”. as he pitches hay and an insert of Lincoln splitting rails. the second panal with caption “The Plutocrat” shows Taft playing golf with John D. Rockefeller (2.9 Million Dollar John). The tag line, “Which Will You Have President of Our Republic?” VG. Secretary of War and Republican Party nominee William Howard Taft defeated three-time Democratic nominee William Jennings Bryan.
