An authentic and complete issue of the New York Tribune, April 27, 1865, 8pp., disbound, rogh at spine,VG. The complete issue displays the mourning ruled columns honoring the assassinated President Lincoln. The front page, “THE OBSEQUIES” reports the details of the funeral train, “As was to be expected ... was far greater than anything we had witnessed ... The scenes on Broadway and Fifth Avenue ... mourners were on the street in grat multitudes ... “ The report continues as the train arrives in Albany. From the interior we learn of arrest of Junius Brutus Booth. A report that Secretary Seward is regaining his strength. Several reports regarding the surrender of Johnson to Sherman.
