August 28, 1861-Dated Civil War Period, Autograph Letter Signed, "B. Peters", as Editor of the "Daily and Weekly Post" on the newspaper's letterhead, 1 page, measuring 5.25" x 8", at Hartford, Conn. Letter of Introduction for Caleb Dunn, Esqr. requesting a Pass for him as a Reporter of the Post for going to one of the Union Army camps for a Camp meeting in his role as a reporter. Boldly written, attractive and easily readable on clean printed letterhead. The first request for a Reporter's Pass to a Civil War event we have offered and no doubt very scarce as such.
