Book, 6" x 9", "Washington at Valley Forge one hundred years ago, or foot-prints of the Revolution", first edition, Norristown, PA: Charles P. Sheiner, 1876, 1890 pencil presentation on fly. The 31" x 23" folded map, "Topographical View Of Valley Forge, During The Encampment of Washington's Army, In The Winter of 1777-78" is extraordinary! The map shows Head Quarters for Washington, LaFayette, Knox, Wayne ... the Pontoon Bridge ... the arsenal, pickets, the Schuylkill River, soldiers being drilled ... The map is flawless. There is a second map, 17" x 12', EAST PENNa" showing the area North of the Delaware River with Morristown being its center. The map shows wear, is glued down. Additionally, there are 4 full page maps in the interior.
