William Mason (1808-1883) - Taunton, Massachusetts inventor and manufacturer. Mason patented a self-acting mule for spinning cotton in 1840 and developed other important work on looms and speeders. He began production on his renowned locomotives in 1852 and manufactured Spring Rifles during the Civil War. Five (5) receipts all docket on the reverse, various sizes, 1844-1861.
