Wonderful albumen photograph of 19th century abolitionists, by George W. Ross, Entered according to Act of Congress, 1882. Framed to an overall size of 15" x 17 ½", in what looks to be the original frame. The albumen image measures 7 3/8" x 9 3/8", excellent. The montage image shows 72 famous 19th century abolitionists, whose names are all listed on the titled mount. Shown are Abraham Lincoln, John Brown, Horace Greeley, Oliver Wendell Holmes, William Goodell, Charles Sumner, Henry Ward Beecher, Owen Lovejoy, Ben Franklin, Oliver Wendell Holmes and many more. A rare image that we have never seen come to market in the past.
