He was a drafter of the United States Constitution, a United States Senator from Connecticut, and the third Chief Justice of the United States. War-date Autograph Document Signed “O. Ellsworth” with counter signature, 1pp. oblong octavo, June 11, 1778, Hartford, Connecticut, addressed to John Lawrence Treasurer, instructing him to pay Lazarus Northup “for a horse lost in public service” Fine condition.
