From March 17, 1789, pg 3, Worcester, in part "Governor St. Clair, with the commissioners and several other gentlemen ... issued a proclamation ... Where as a treaty was concluded at Fort Harmar ... with Six Nations, the Wyandot, Delaware, Chippawa, Ottowas, Peotowatamie and Sac nations of Indians ... peace and friendship has been renewed ... All the citizens and subjects of the United States are requested to take notice ...Arthur St. Clair" . ...plus, Then from the May 1, 1789 issue, pg 2, Virginia, in part, "You are doubtless informed of a treaty having taken place between commissioners and several Northern Tribes of Indians. ... we have experienced no effects ... they have made several incursions on our frontier since the treaty ... a few days past a party was followed by Col. Johnson ... overtook them and killed one of the INdians, wounded severeal ... The Indians have committed several murders at the settlement of Cumberland lately ...."
