Twenty-five Cents Kentucky bank note, issued at Frankfort, September 1862, with printed "In Frankfort, Ky. at my office, I will pay to Bearer TWENTY-FIVE CENTS In Confederate Money, when the Amount of Five Dollars is presented..." Small loss at top right corner, else very good condition. General E. Kirby Smith occupied Frankfort on September 3, 1863 and abandoned it after the Battle of Perryville, on October 9, 1862. Thus for a very short period this note was valid.
