Annual Register... for the Year 1783, 590pp., covers loose, interior VG. Several George Washington Printed letters to include, Washington's circular letter to John Hancock, in part, "The great object for which I had the honor to hold an appointment in the Service of my Country being accomplished, I am now preparing to resign it into the hands of Congress ... The Citizens of America, placed in the most enviable condition, as the sole Lords and Proprietors of a vast tract of Continent ..." Then a full printing of Washington's farewell orders November 2, 1783, in part, "it only remains for the Commander in Chief to address himself once more, and that for the last time, to the Armies of the United States and to bid them an affectionate--a long farewell..." then a printing of Washington's farewell to his officers at Fraunces' Tavern, December 4, 1783, in small part, "With an heart full of love and gratitude I now take leave of you: I most devoutly wish that your latter days may be as prosperous and happy as your former ones have been glorious and honorable"
