Officially licensed by Major League Baseball, cold cast statue by the Danbury Mint's capturing Jackie Robinson sliding into base with spikes up. This is likely September 28, 1955, when Jackie stole home for Dodgers in Game 1 of World Series against the Yankees. Robinson 'stole home' on 19 other occasions in his 10-year career, 1947-1956. The statue is 8" L x 5"W x 5" T, and spiked into the highly glassed wood base. c1999 Mint. Jack Roosevelt Robinson became the first African-American to play in Major League Baseball in the modern era. Robinson broke the color line when he started at first base for the Brooklyn Dodgers on April 15, 1947. Jackie Robinson had 197 stolen bases in his Major League Baseball career. He was known for his speed and base-stealing prowess.
