Bautifully penned single page 8 x 10 letter in the hand of and signed by Lewis Abraham;from Cincinnati Feb. 25, 1847 to Leeser;writes that he is sending this letter by his friend Alex Guthre to personally hand to Leeser “…and I have collected for you [the money] enclosed. The four citrons were sent by a friend of yours during your indisposition. Mr. Gutheim wishes to be considered a subscriber to the Publication Society; also the Hebrew Institute [wishes] a subscription…forward the books to me as usual for the Institute. …Yet to collect more subscriptions…[names others who owe or are about to subscribe]…I am quite unwell with a severe nervous affliction rendering study extremely painful…compelled to forego most of my correspondence.” Back sheet acts as cover with address.
