Pamphlet 8 pages; 6 x 8; although undated does bear bold and apparently “of the period” large penciled date “March 1, 1891” on top margin above title. David Solis-Cohen born of the prominent Philadelphia family (1850-1928) became resident of Portland, Oregon 1878 and was active in Jewish communal affairs and a pioneer in the cultural movement and Zionism. Active in civic affairs he was commissioner of correction in Oregon 1890-92; police commissioner of Portland 1892-94 and mayor of Portland 1896-98. Accompanied with fine bio sketch. (Not found listed in Singerman.).
