Autograph Letter Signed, "E.J. Fulton" 2p. quarto, July 2, 1854, Springfield Township, Ohio, with good content pertaining to destruction by a tornado, it reads in part: "…on the Night of the 29th of June about half past nine oclock there was a tornado swept through this part of the county it struck here about one mile to the westward of Mr. Elliott and tore up 7 or 8 large trees and then took the top of his house his barn, orchard, and out houses and then swept down across our place taking six of our largest trees and took the roof off our house and swept the bar and our gardin stuff to the ground. The corn I planted while you were here it then swept down Mr. Cresys wood that was between us and the rail road down as far as Mr. Wilbers and there it escaped his house but took his orchard and a clean sweep of all our fences and then kept on to Mr. Deans that keeps the tavern and took all the chimbles from his houses and three barns two of which it swept to the ground and one it took the roof of and it took the greater part of his orchard up by the roots, it buried six of Mr. Deans horses in one of his barns but the got them out without being hurt much.
