Partly-printed Document Signed, "Josiah Wilbarger" and early Texas Pioneer and folk legend who was scalped by Indians while on a survey crew in 1833 but lived eleven more years. The document is 1p. oblong octavo, April 10, 1828, Houston, Texas, and reads "The Treasurer of the Republic of Texas will pay to the order of Joshiah Wilbarger One Hundred and fifteen 85/100 Dollars, out of any money in the Treasury appropriated for the payment of Artillery (supplies)..."Countersigned by Francis R. Lubbock. Fine.
