Partly-printed Document Signed, “W.T. Jackman” 1p. folio, March 11, 1895, Hays County, Texas, being a bail bond for ‘carrying a pistol.’. Fold splits, else VG. W.T. ‘Bill’ Jackman took his first herd to Dodge City in 1870 for the Adams brothers of San Antonio and San Marcos. Took another herd to Nebraska for Col. Ellison of Caldwell County in 1877 and again drove herds for Col. Ellison and James Sherill in 1878. He would then serve as sheriff of Hays County, Texas (1892-1912).
