Bill of Sale, 1p. 8vo., July 30, 1835 Pasquotauck County, North Carolina for a negro slave to a man in New York City. In part: "...I Princes Knox...inconsideration of the sum of one dollar to me in hand paid by James I Tredwell of the City of New York...do hereby sell and deliver...a certain negro man George commonly called Geo. Blount, aged about thirty-five ..." Singed by Knox with "X" with court docketing on verso. Fine. Not examined out of frame. Unusual to see a slave sold to a New Yorker this late.
