May 15, 1865, being the inventory of the effects of Peter Munson of the 1st Illinois Light Artillery, who was drowned while on board the Steamer "General Lyon", March 31, 1865. Signed by his captain. Fine. Rare.On March 31, 1865, the steamer “General Lyon” went down off of Cape Hatteras with 550 people on board, of those only 28 survived. It was one of the worst military castorphese of the war.
