Partly-printed parole, 1p. oblong octavo, issued at Greensboro, North Carolina, May 4, 1865, to "L.J.M. Camp Co. B 10th Ga. Cav." and is signed by Captain L.J. Smith of the 10th Georgia Cavalry and by Major J.M. Letcher, U.S.A., it reads in part: "...In accordance with the terms of the Military Convention entered into on the twenty-sixth day of April, 1865, between General JOSEPH E. JOHNSTON, Commanding the Confederate Army, and Major-General W.T. SHERMAN, Commanding the United States Army in North Carolina..." Field carried, with small repairs, else VG. This unit was organized in July, 1864 outside of Petersburg, Virginia by consolidating the 7th Confederate cavalry and three of Millen's 20th Georgia Battalion Partisan Rangers. The new regiment was assigned to General Young's Brigade, ANV, and was later transferred to Logan's command and fought in South and North Carolina.
