JOHNSON, Lyndon Baines (1908-1973) Thirty-sixth President (1963-69), taking Office following Kennedy's assassination and winning a strong return in the 1964 election. A New Deal Democrat from Texas, LBJ served in both the House and Senate.Printed Document Signed, "Lyndon B. Johnson" as President, 1p. folio, March, 1966, and reads: "We, members of the White House News Photographers Association express our sincere gratitude to: C. ED ALLEY for his outstanding contribution and efforts as Editor of the White House News Photographers magazine for the past six years. This is to convey our appreciation for a job well done for members and friends of WHNPA...." With attached White House News Photographer badge, engraved "C. ED. ALLEY." The document in addition to Johnson's signature, bears the signatures of seventy-five others including: HERBERT HUMPHREY as Vice President; JOHN W. McCORMACK as Speaker of the House; and dozens of others. Paper is torn near badge, fold at top left corner, else VG.
