Single page letter entirely penned by Rehine from "Baltimore, March 30, 1835" to his nephew Isaac Leeser; single page in a tiny, yet readable neatly penned hand: "Went to see Jacob Cohen who is sick and left a copy of your Discourse…handed it to Richard Etting…[you] can depend upon it if ever the doctor says I am really sick. I always tell them if I am in danger not to keep it from me, but you shall know it. Thank God…I am today as well as I have ever been…" Writes of Leeser's proposal for teaching school: "…you had begun with 12 or 14 children…do not know what prospect you have…your welfare will always be my first wish." Sends regards to Peixotto and Simah Rachel. Full autograph signature. Bottom part of that letter was blank and has been removed (no text missing) letter is fine. Back sheet serves as cover with address and postal surcharge. Normal aging; exc.+. Later relocating to Baltimore, it was in his home that the very first Baltimore Jewish religious services took place and from which Baltimore's congregation first grew.
