Autograph Letter Signed, “A.C. Myers QM Genl.” 1p. quarto, Augusta, Georgia, July 24, 1862, and reads “In addition to the duties you perform of paying troops, you will receive the Bounty money from Captain W. Bacon AQM and pay the bounty due to soldiers and also make payments for the commutation of Quarters & fuel to all officers entitled to receive that allowance...” VG.Abraham Charles Myers was born in Georgetown, Ga., the great-grandson of the first rabbi of Congregation K.K. Beth Elohim of Charleston, S.C. He graduated from West Point and served in the Seminole, Mexican and Civil Wars. In the later he served the Confederate States of America as Quartermaster General. (1861-63). Ft. Myers, Florida is named in his honor.
