Manuscript Document Signed, “Augustus Beall” as sheriff, 1p. folio, Warren County, Georgia, April 7, 1842, and reads in part: “...I Augustus Beall Shff of the County afroesaid did lately seize and levey upon a certain negro boy Charles as the property of Milmon M. Butt, to satisfy sundry fifas one in favor of Benjamin R. Palmer, George W. Hardaway and others Vs. Milmond M. Butt and after publicly advertising the same agreeably to law in the public gazettes did put up and expose the same to public auction on the first Tuesday in April the present Month 1842 at the door of the court House of said county wihtin the legal hours of slae when the same was knocked off to William Stone at the price of four hundred and twenty eight dollars he being the highest bidder...” VG.
