Manuscript Document being a court copy pertaining to the distribution of a slave estate, 1p. folio, January 4, 1844, Warren County, Georgia, stating that Madison Darden was to recieve 1/5th of the estate of Johnathan Darden, the commisoin “proceeded on this day to the performance of that duty we asertained there were five distributees to wit Madison of full age the others minors...the shares were numbered one, two, three, four , and five, and were...deposited in one hat, and a number was drawn from said hat by the legatee Madison Darden and he drew number four consisting of Daniel a man and Frances a girl valued at seven hundred dollars a distributive share amounting to six hundred and ninety six dolalrs, the negroes of the estate of the said Jonathan Darden valued at three thousand and four hundred and eighty dollars...” VG.
