Mansucript Document Signed, 2p. folio, Glynn County, Geogia, December 6, 1859, and reads “Know all men by these presents I, G. W.L. hall duly consituted Guardian of Collen Albert Rogers a minor...by virtue of an Order granted by the Honorable Court of Ordinary...on the first Monday in July last to said G.W. L. Hall guardian as aforesaid, to sell a certain negro boy slave named Amos belonging to said Collen A. Rogers, minor aforesaid After the said negro boy slave was duly advertised, in conformity to law, the same was put up & exposed to slae to the highest bidder, at the door of the Court House, at Brunswick, in said county, within the legal hours of sale on the first Tuesday in December...when the said boy was knocked off to Tho. N. Gardner Agent for Emily Hartz, at the price of Seven hundred dolalrs, he being the highest & best bidder...Said negro boy slave Amos is about nine years of age & of dark complexion, which negro boy I warrant to be sound & well, in body & mind, & to be a slave for life...” VG.
