Confederate Manuscript Document Signed, “A.C. Myers” 1p. quarto, on CSA Quartermaster’s imprint, Richmond, August 6, 1862, and reads “Bounty money is payable only, after the recruit is insepcted by a medical officer & mustered in to the service...” VG.Abraham Charles Myers was born in Georgetown, Ga., the great-grandson of the first rabbi of Congregation K.K. Beth Elohim of Charleston, S.C. He graduated from West Point and served in the Seminole, Mexican and Civil Wars. In the later he served the Confederate States of America as Quartermaster General. (1861-63). Ft. Myers, Florida is named in his honor.
