A good war-date Confederate officer's letter written by Captain Leonard Williams, Hampton Legion, South Carolina Cavalry, 4p. octavo, Chisholmville, near Green Pond, South Carolina, July 20, 1864, and reads in part: "…there have been three companies here for sometime they have had a good deal of sickness, but I have no idea it is more sickly than Georgetown. Mt. Pleasant was the nicest camp we have ever had, hated very much to leave there…Stokes & Blythe are still at Georgetown, and still without any officer to assist me…the country is much more thickly settled than I had supposed & a great deal of fine land uncleared…What do the people think of Johnson's removal? We camped last night at Adams Run, it is a very good place…". Fine.
