War-Date Confederate Prisoner of War Autograph Letter Signed, “J.F. Floyd” 51st Georgia Infantry, taken prisoner at Colod Harbor, 1p. octavo, “Prisoners Camp Elmira, N. York” August 5, 1864, and reads “Dr. Sir by the request of a firend yours I seat my self to write you a few lines hoping you will answer soon. I am a Prisoner and am in need of assistance. I am very much in need of shoes if you will send me a pair I will be under all obligations to you, if you can send them please send a pair of No. 6’s and I will be with great respect your obedient servant J.F. Floyd Prisoner of War, Prisoners Camp, Elmira N. York 18th Ward.” Near Fine.
