A good war-date Confederate imprint, "General Orders No. 56", 1p. 8vo., issued at the Adjutant and Inspector General's Office, Richmond, June 30, 1864, in part: "The following order is published for the information of all concerned: EXCHANGE NOTICE, No. 11, Richmond, June 27, 1864. All officers and men of the Vicksburg capture of July 4th, 1863, who reported for duty either at Enterprise (Miss.), Demopolis (Ala.), Jonesboro (Tenn.) Vienna, Nachitoches, Shreveport or Alexandria (La.), at any time prior to April 1st, 1864, and whose names have been forwarded to me by the proper officers, are hereby declared exchanged..." Fine.
