A great war-date partly-printed Confederate broadsheet, entitled: "TAX IN KIND", 1p. large folio, September 23, 1864, Anson County, North Carolina levying property tax on plantation owner Jeremiah Henry for his production of that summer's wheat and oats while at the middle of the form Mr. Henry further provides a prospectus for the coming season's farm and agricultural production. On the verso is a printed notice as to who is exempt from paying tax including ex-soldiers and sailors with the widows of fallen veterans are also exempt from taxation. VG.
