Infantry of the so-called Confederate States Army, captured at Lexington, NC solemnly swear before Almighty God, the Sovereign Judge, that I will nto bear arms against the United States Government, nor help, aid, or assist, either directly or indirectly, any person or persons, in making war against the same, until regularly exchanged as a prisoner of war, and taht I will not, at any time, communciate to any person information received while within the Federal lines detrimental to the same...” VG.
