C, 141st New York Vols., Atlanta, Ga., Nov. 1, 1864, reading, in part: "…Please be so kind as to go to Elmira & get $100 dollars from the Bank of Chemung as I have sent that warrant there to be drawn at your Order of Trasey[sic] Beadle. Capt Baldwin is to start for Elmira in the morning with the understanding that he is to remain in Elmira & do duty…Our Regt. has got quite a number of recruits they came quite unexpectedly…The news this morning is that we are to go on a campaign of fifty days soon in a week or ten days…Milroy Westbrook has been released & will go home as soon as he can get transportation…".
